Cllr Dick Broady reported
that since the new no smoking rules were enforced from 1st July 2007, that he
has noticed a considerable increase in the number of cigarette butts outside the
shops at The Triangle, Freshwater Square and Farmlands Way. He requested that
Council discuss the provision and emptying of wall mounted cigarette bins outside
these shops, and for the Parish Council to lead a campaign to encourage smokers
to use them. He had researched on the internet prices, which ranged between £24
and £80 per unit and suggested that they could be engraved with the Willingdon
and Jevington logo. It was advised that there are some bins that also have a special
